What a beautiful week this has been! On Monday my sisters and I took off for Wyoming (to visit little sis and baby) at 6:30 am. A very peaceful 12 hour drive, I so enjoy the relaxation of being on the road. There's nothing like watching as the road unfurls, the miles ahead of us draped like ribbons across the land. We had a couple of days of good old-fashioned sister talk, coffee, good food and laughs! My mom wasn't able to make it (will go next week instead) so it was really the first time the 5 of us have spent time alone together as adults. We all agreed that it was a wonderful trip! My niece Halli (10 months) absolutely won me over this trip as well. She stole my heart completely! She's very selective with her baby kisses (even for mom) but she would crawl to me, look up with a smile, and give me kisses. She's an absolute doll. I started the drive yesterday evening and drove us out of the sunset. I finished the drive this morning and drove us into the sunrise 12 hours later, it was very cool. The sun sure does take a speedy trip around old Mother Earth! Let's be sure to drink in the beauty that surrounds us, it should not be taken for granted. Peace. I cut my hair again! And I absoloutely LOVE it! Short and sassy--the way I see it is that the exterior now matches the interior. I have had a lovely week. Monday was good, Tuesday was busy. Between my appointments I managed to squeeze in lunch with my mom, which was nice. Wednesday after work I worked with my group on ooVoo, a video chat site. Using Google Docs we wrote a 3 page paper together. It went well and was an interesting process learning how to interact virtually. Thursday morning I worked, it was a BEAUTIFUL sunshiny day! Met Kathy and Jill at Prairie Haven, an occasional shop. There were some beautiful things there but I intentionally left my purse in my car. I do not NEED more stuff in my apartment. I brought Mariah ice cream at work for her birthday, laid in the sun for awhile and met Kathy, Jill, Ruth, and her daughter Marie at Zella's for an evening drink and visit. While I was there I received news that I'm an auntie again! My sister Alana in Wyoming had a baby girl, Jacey Anne 8 lbs, 6 oz. Chubby little thing, she sure looks sweet. I plan to go there in 2 weeks, my sister requested some time to settle in so that's okay. She'll have more pep by then! I worked a short shift this morning followed by grocery shopping (I've been avoiding) and lunch at my sister Janet's with my sister-in-law Larissa and my mom. We did open-faced sandwiches with lots of veggies, black bean and garlic chips, and guacamole. It was delicious! I have a relaxing weekend planned, I hope to get a decent bit of homework done. We'll see if it goes as planned. Back to the hair: a coworker stated that I've been 3 different people in 2 months! And really? I kind of have... in a good way. Quite the transformation this little chicky has taken on. Life is good. Smile :) |
