Thursday afternoon I went to spend time with the sisters at Clare's Well. I picked apples, fed the chickens, goats, and guineas, baked 2 apple pies (from scratch!), assisted with making applesauce, and peeled, cored, and sliced dozens of apples. This was an apple-themed day, apparently. Their trees are so abundant, and the fruits are delicious! I then had dinner with Sister Jan and another (who's name escapes my memory) and had a heart-warming visit over quiche, green beans, bread, fresh melon, and a slice of fresh-baked apple pie.
I (as do many, many others) leave Clare's Well feeling utterly warmed, nourished, grounded, and refueled. This place is enveloped by a healing spirit that I've been blessed enough to be able to share. However, from what I understand, Clare's Well is up for sale and the interested party may be making some major changes. The selling price is in the $400,000 range. Unfortunately, I do not have that kind of money lying around, but it physically pains me to think of this haven no longer existing.
I do have a friend who would possibly be interested in purchasing Clare's Well and managing it as it is today. If I were in any way able to assist in raising funding for her, I would be honored to do so. If anybody has any ideas on getting a start, please do share!
In the meantime, fall is in the air. The leaves are turning colors, the nights cooling off. Such a deliciously cozy time of year in Minnesota, I cherish every moment.
And, as much as I do enjoy attending college, I also keep an eye on the light at the end of the tunnel. Today kicks off week 6 of 17 for fall semester. Woo-hoo!
Smile on, my friends!
Peace.
