We've somehow reached the third week of the fall semester already, time is whizzing by! I am certainly keeping busy. Picked up a few too many hours at work the first week and quickly learned my lesson. School is my number one job right now, work comes second. I'm learning...
I celebrated my 25th birthday on the 5th. Had supper with my family and friends along with a delicious homemade 4-layer-salted-caramel-chocolate cake. Whoo! Good stuff. I left my family's church earlier this year and it's been a major adjustment. Overall, my family has been doing okay, we've had our ups and downs. But because my birthday was about ME, there seemed to be a bit of a blanket of sadness over the day (the belief that I'm a "lost child" and struggle with accepting that I'm still me.) Still, it was good to see old friends.
On my actual birthday, Mariah and I had supper at Tokyo Grill, my first sushi experience. The jury is still out but I'm definitely game to try it again. We then went for a wine tasting at the Crow River Winery, a delightful experience. Excellent customer service, we received answers to all of our questions. We did 10 tastings, and at the end they brought out some chocolate desserts from a banquet. Well, they weren't about to serve dessert without additional wine, so he poured some more. It was really a fun evening. (Thanks, Mariah!)
I've been spending some time with a friend in the cities. Was introduced to a coffee place called Spyhouse, good stuff. I do enjoy spending time in Minneapolis, I plan to be there this weekend as well.
I need to decide where I want to go to school in the fall of 2014. Ideas? I plan to go for nursing and have several possible schools. Oregon or Washington, Texas, New York, Minnesota. I'm currently leaning towards staying in MN, either Winona State or the U of M, but if anybody has any input I'd love to hear it!
I wish a great day to all of you! Enjoy the sunshine :)
Peace.
